This is not your standard vanity-, obsession- or advertising-blog – its more like a bunch of provisional answers to some of those questions all you friends and family may have, but never know quite how to ask: “What is this anthropology business about?” “What do you do all that time in Indonesia?” “What do academics do when they are not standing in front of a class?” and maybe more.
It is also for colleagues and students and anyone else who may be interested in my work to access most of it in one place.
The links down the right-hand side are to a selection of things I’ve written, which are in many ways the core of what I do and will hopefully will give you some idea. I also like to imagine that of there is any value in the things I write, it might be a way of getting them out to a wider audience than the usual academic one. Some will be easier to read than others, but try them and see. I don’t expect the usual (vanity- or obsession- ) feedback, but feel free to ask more questions.
